Old Trees – 43 Unreleased Tracks for Unicef

A surprise release unleashing 43 unreleased tracks!

http://bennjordan.bandcamp.com/album/old-trees-1999-2011

Here lies a collection of various finished tracks, compositions, or remastered demos that I’ve made over the last 12 years but never officially released on an album.

Early in my music making, I never really planned an album, I’d just make track after track until a select bunch of them sounded good together to me (and to a record label, of course). Later on, I’d make things either with the intention of them being on an album, and they wouldn’t sound right to me in the final arrangement of the record. Others are simply things I wrote for fun or my own little challenge. In those processes I ended up with loads of extra songs floating around my hard drives and tape machines serving absolutely no purpose. Here are 43 of them.

After years of promising some sort of B-side release, I decided to put together a chronological chunk of them and donate 50% of the proceeds to Unicef. After all, I feel bad taking all the money for something I never intended for the public to hear. Unicef is one of the largest, effective, and most well-organized charities in the world, and after years following their work and the occasional fundraising, I am confident that they are one of the best places to give your expendable income. I urge you to check them out and become a member: www.unicef.org
